This novel (Booker Prize, 2003) by the Australian born writer Peter Warren Finlay who took on the pen name DBC (standing for Dirty But Clean) Pierre is a black comedy featuring Vernon Gregory Little, a troubled teenager. Little is fifteen and lives in a small town in Texas in the US- Wrongly accused of being a conspirator in a horrific . incident involving the killing of 16 bullying schoolmates by his friend Jesus Navarro who then commits suicide, he goes on the run when things get completely out of hand; Written in contemporary vernacular, the book succeeds in presenting the ambiguities present in contemporary US. it won the 2003 Booker Prize.

  1. Hmmm...i cannot say your blog throws a lot of light on the book itself. besides I feel the use of such dark colours is a strain on the eye. not to mention the very user unfriendly animated banner you have placed just above the post...
    Vernon God Little is a book I enjoyed reading immensely. The use of language was stunning.
